Hello. Had supposed crack in a tooth that was crowned after root canal in attempt to save tooth and everything seemed fine. Crown was intentionally sealed with temporary cement In case any future issues that required removal. Began having discomfort in the tooth after six months and feel it is most likely due to crack extending.Heard if crack extends past gumline is best to extract. Is it possible to remove crown and look into tooth with dental microscope to look for crack extension?

Answer: Possible to evaluate if the crown is cemented with temporary cement
Actually, it is very difficult to see the open margin of the crown , but at least we can see a possibility if there is a part that has caries in that area and is not in harmony with the crown. You can share your x-ray with us, we will evaluate it.
