QUESTIONS ANSWERED

I dislike the triangle gap between my lateral and canine incisors. What are the options to have a better looking smile? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The triangle gap at the incisal edges are not uncommon. Depending on how the lower teeth are located in relation to this, the triangle may look more obvious. Also some people have smaller laterals than normal size. The incisal edges should not be completely straight as it will make the teeth to look like chicklet teeth. Perhaps doing a little bonding at the distal edge of the laterals to see if it will improve. If you are pleased with the bonding treatment, porcelain veneers are the better option for the long run. However, I personally thinks that you have a beautiful smile and it is probably better not to touch the healthy teeth.
Hope this helps you.

How to diagnose possible crack in crowned tooth?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It will be possible to evaluate visually with microscope only if the crown can be removed. However, how far down the crack would be difficult if it is below the gum line. Also pain can be coming from multifactorial causes such as cement wash out, further cracks, or the nerve becoming necrotic(dying). Radiographs should also be taken to see if there is any changes around the root.
Hope this helps you.

Is it normal for air/wind between gums/dentures when changing from conventional dentures to All-on-8?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

In many cases, once the implant surgery is performed the tissue height is changed. Thus, there can be gaps between the denture and the tissue. If the denture is used temporarily, it can be fixed by adding acrylic in the clinic. If it is a permanent prosthesis,(at this point, it will be a bridge) the prosthesis may have to be remade. Regardless, closing the gap is possible. Hope this helps you.

Am I a candidate for dental bonding? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Without in comprehensive exam, we cannot evaluate how much bonding can achieve. Also rather than bonding, porcelain veneers will look natural and longer lasting. If we lengthen the teeth with out any guide, teeth will be too long, looking unnatural. The only way to assess any possible treatment is do a diagnostic work up with 3D imaging. We could do the scan of the teeth and create a ideal teeth shapes and evaluate the overall bite. Sometimes we could achieve some improvements, but without detailed exam, it will be impossible to say the dental bonding is a good option.
