I'm scheduled for a breast augmentation in January. A couple of months ago, I had an MRI after thinking l'd injured my back at the gym. The results showed a minor disc bulge at L5 and some disc degeneration at L4/L5. Two physiotherapists have told me that these findings are very common, not considered significant, and that many people have them without symptoms. I didn't mention this to my surgeon after because it seemed minor after talking with health professionals, and I actually had minor discomfort prior to the MRI and no ‘negative feelings’ in my back for about three weeks afterward. This week, l've had a few mild niggles or a strained feeling in my lower back, but nothing severe. I've been doing my physiotherapy to strengthen my core. Do I need to inform my surgeon about this MRI finding? Could it affect my breast augmentation in any way?
