Thank you for your question. Minocycline is not a contraindication for Fraxel, which means you can undergo the treatment safely. However, acne scarring can be a complex issue that requires more than one type of treatment to ensure the best results. We offer a wide range of lasers, as well as Clear & Brilliant, microneedling, Fraxel Restore, Vbeam, and IPL to address this problem. In addition, dermal filler injections and subcision can be effective on deeper scars. I recommend you work with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who has a variety of treatment options and the experience to tailor your treatment to your precise needs.
Thanks for the great question. As the panel below has stated you do not need to stop the medication. However, make sure that you are not using any oral retinoid products that can lead to worse outcomes with Fraxel. Acne scarring can be distressing and bothersome in appearance/texture. Peels are good treatments for pores and textural problems. However, other laser therapies such as Fraxel may be better suited. They help shrink the pores and allow for collage turnover, tightening of the skin. Other options are less invasive Clear and Brilliant with only one day of downtime (e.g. redness like bad sunburn). I recommend you speak to a dermatologic surgeon that treats acne scarring on a regular frequency. I wish you all the best and hope this helps answer your question.
Yes, you can still get your laser treatments. For acne scarring, I recommend a combination of lasers with microneedling/prp, subcision and fillers to get the most improvement. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Yes you can, no interaction with the medications and Fraxel laser. I would however consider targeted scar revision, rather than a device. More in the web reference under Acne Scars. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
Yes...I do all of my Fraxel Repair treatments under light general anesthesia. I find that the patients tolerate this better than local and a "little sedation." Under general anesthesia, I can go deeper and with more "passes" without the patient being uncomfortable. Many times I...
Hi Lock, all fractional laser technology is similar. Not the same, but similar. The Derma K uses both Erbium (2940nm) and CO2 (10600nm) light. Although the laser light is slightly different for Erbium and CO2 the effect that it has on skin is very similar and both types are used for laser re...
Fraxel Restore can definitely be performed on the upper eyelids so long as the proper precautions are taken. Sterile metal eye shields must be placed into the eye, and settings must be adjusted to the appropriate levels. In the state of California, only licensed physicians and registered nurses...
