my previous crowns were smooth. Replacements (28) feel uncomfortable, are visibly ridged/grooved they don't feel clean some back teeth have a dip/cavity. Also food gets stuck to them, this will encourage plaque or worse, it's not hygenic. I clean them frequently each day, my tongue is raw due to being drawn to them.I'm extremely disappointed. Don't think they've been finished properly. Please advise about the correct finish of zirconium crowns+ what needs to be done to resolve this

I wouldn't say the tooth has to be extracted when a crown fails. What would happen depends on the situation. Typically if a crown reaches it's life span we remove the old crown and replace it with little or no incident to the tooth.
