Am I too fat to take Accutane? I weigh 230lb and am 5ft 6, female.

I’m considering accutane as every treatment in the book has failed. This is my last option but am I too fat for it to work?

It’s not clear if you have health issues related to your weight. 
  
Isotretinoin treatment dosing is dependent on a person's weight. Monthly visits with your provider along with  laboratory monitoring is key during treatment period which is generally 5-7 months.  It is important to be under the supervision of a board certified dermatologist.

Thank you for your question. Accutane (isotretinoin) is a weight based therapy meaning the dosing is dependent on a person's weight. Accutane dosing is 1 mg per kilogram for a minimum of 4 months. Duration of treatment may be extended depending on a patient's tolerance of side effects of Accutane, so treatment may last up to 8 months.
