Hi there 10 months post op with 550cc moderate profile. I've recently noticed through taking pictures that my breasts are very uneven? Am I possibly experiencing bottoming out or is one just bigger than the other? My nipples are uneven? They feel fine but I just think they look very different? Any help much appreciated
Answer: Bottoming out Dear Nurturing7277, bottoming out occurs when the implant falls below the current breast crease or inframammary line. It's more likely to happen with inframammary incisions, which is why I try not to use the inframammary approach to any breast surgery. Bottoming out can also occur if an implant is too large for the breast pocket. That is why it is important to choose an implant size that's correct for your body. I perform numerous measurements in the office to determine optimal implant size for my patient's bodies. If you are concerned, please check it with your plastic surgeon for reassurance and to further discuss your options and possibility of revision. Answer: 10 months post-op. Am I experiencing bottoming out? Thank you very much for your question.Your implants look to be lying in a relatively good position but it does look like the scar is potentially sitting a little higher up on your lower breast tissue rather than in your inflammatory fold - but this may just be shadows or down to the angle of the photos. Your breast implants do look slightly large for your frame and bottoming out does usually occur when breast implants are too large for the breast pocket so this may become the case. Your left implant does look slightly lower than your right implant in your front facing photo and your areolas are slightly wide and your left areola in particular is located slightly laterally. It may be useful to support your breasts at much as possible be wearing supportive bras to limit any further descent in your implants and if you are feeling concerned or unhappy with the appearance of your breasts particularly the slight descent in your left implant then it would be sensible to discuss this with your surgeon.
