Hi guys, I have a breast reduction (initially wanted just a lift) coming up in the next three weeks, wondering if anyone has any tips on how they prepared for their operation? and what tips you think will help one have a smooth post opp and healing experience? Any suggestions big or small will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance x
Answer: Breast Reduction Thank you for your question! Breast reduction patients are some of my happiest patients! They feel immediate relief and generally feel pretty good post surgery. Give your body time to heal, so take it slow, do not overdo. Follow your surgeons instructions and reach out to him or her with any concerns. Best wishes!

Answer: Breast Reduction Hello! Your surgeon will likely have specific instructions for you to follow in preparation for your upcoming procedure, as well as post-op instructions for the first few weeks following surgery. Hydration and nutrition are key factors to begin focusing on. I recommend drinking 2L of water daily, and eating foods that are high in zinc, vitamin c, and protein as this helps promote wound healing. I always instruct my patients to discontinue NSAIDs, herbal supplements, and other non-essential medications 2 weeks prior to their surgery. Be sure to discuss specific pre-op/post-op questions and recommendations with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Best of luck to you!

He know the surgical technique that will be applied and will give you specific instructions in the days and weeks leading up to your surgery. These may include avoiding certain medications and supplements, quitting smoking, and not eating or drinking anything after midnight on the night before your surgery. Best wishes! Answer: Prepping for surgery It's a great idea for you to prep for surgery and recovery. As you lead up to surgery you will want to review your medications and supplements you take with your surgeon as there may be some that need to be stopped. If you smoke you need to be completely off nicotine for several weeks before and after surgery. Eat a healthy, balanced diet and get regular exercise. Prepare for someone to take you home from surgery and help for a few days. Look through your closet for shirts that are loose and easy to get on and off. Keep lots of pillows handy for comfort when you sleep. And most importantly, discuss your concerns with your surgeon. Good luck with your surgery!
