Since there are practically no specialists here its certain that i will have to travel out to get it done. My question is what is the average cost i'll have to incur for surgery, braces etc in Canada and what measures are in place if at all there are any to get some of the pre-surgery services here in Nigeria

Hi there, In Barcelona, Spain, the costs for an othognathic surgery are roughly between 9000 and 12 000 euros, depending on weather it´s a monomaxilary or bimaxillary (upper and lower jaw) surgery. The costs of the hospital are typically in the 3000 euros range. We need preop pictures, panorex and lateral ceph or a cone beam scan, and an orthodontis to coordinate the treatment. In some cases we apply the "surgery first" protocol and begin with surgery, leaving the ortho treatment after surgery. The advantage is we simplify the ortho treatment and significantly reduce the ortho treatment time.
