According to real patient reviews on RealSelf, the price can range from just $3,500 to $21,000
The cost for liposuction varies based on many variables including the specific area being treated, the number of areas treated, how much tissue needs to be removed and if additional technologies are being utilized (SAL vs PALS vs VASER vs Renuvion etc). In general the cost starts at around 3-4K and can run up to 15K+ depending on what is required.
Great question. Prices vary by region, provider (type, experience, field) and setting (office/OR). Total fee is what your are asking for most likely and that depends on setting. Office based liposuction (done under local anesthesia) includes a set up fee and surgeon's fee and is generally less than liposuction done in the operating room as there are no operating room or anesthesiologist fees. I only do office based liposuction for relatively small areas and this starts around $3000 (my office could give you a firm quote after consultation). Larger cases done in the operating room under general anesthesia start about double that. I say all this based on 20+ years of experience as a board certified plastic surgeon and always with patient safety guiding me. I have seen too many patients who have have surgical misadventures done in the wrong setting, for the wrong reasons and by the wrong provider. By the way, I understand your concern about undergoing abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) but just so you know I do a lot of them and it is very safe.
Cost for liposuction varies largely depending on the areas you are having treated. Of course there will be a discount if you are treating more than one area at the same time. There is also a price difference due to the location of the service provider or the technology that is used to do the liposuction. There is the traditional SAL or “suction assistant liposuction” that normally is cheaper than more modern technologies like “water jet assisted liposuction” or “laser assisted liposuction” or many other new technologies that all have their indications advantages and disadvantages. It is important to know that there is a limit to the areas in volume that can be removed in one goal. This is determined by your personal health and safety. Modern liposuction performed by an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon is a safe procedure however it is a surgical procedure that does have its typical profile of risks and complications.
