Will lipo with J-Plasma work or is an arm lift necessary? (Photos)

Thank you for your question regarding what to do with your arms. Based on your pictures, I would suggest a formal arm lift or arm reduction, also called  a brachioplasty. In my opinion, whether you have J-Plasma or VASER liposuction of the upper arms, your arms will not contract even if you have “firm skin”.   In my opinion, I would not waste money on arm J-Plasma or VASER arm liposuction. In my opinion, after J-Plasma or VASER arm liposuction, you will still have loose hanging arm skin and your arms may actually look worse rather than better. In my opinion, you would benefit most from a formal arm reduction. During your arm reduction or arm lift, arm liposuction is performed and excess arm skin and fat is removed from the armpit to the elbow. I am certain your arms would be much skinnier after this procedure compared to J-Plasma or VASER arm liposuction. If you are considering J-Plasma or VASER arm liposuction, your down time would be approximately 1 week. However ,your results will be minimal or perhaps worse. If you have an arm reduction or brachioplasty, your down time will be approximately 2 weeks, but would have far more superior results than J-Plasma or VASER arm liposuction. In my opinion, I would go with results and plan for just 1 more week recovery. Do not jeopardize your final results based on the amount of time needed for arm surgery recovery. From your photos, you appear to be a good candidate for BodyTite with liposuction of the arms. BodyTite does not remove any fat, but it is capable of producing a 45% contraction in tissues. Results can be seen immediately after one treatment and are more evident over three to six months post-treatment. Wait until six months to fully evaluate the aesthetic results.  Sedentary activities can be resumed in two to three days and full activity with exercise within two to three weeks.

Thank you for your question.Based on your photos, I would suggest liposuction with skin tightening. I do not think liposuction alone would decrease your arms enough to make you happy and it may leave you with laxity to the skin.

Thank you for your questions and photos. You look to be a very good candidate for arm liposuction and a brachioplasty or arm lift. The liposuction will remove extra fat and sculpt the arms down to a desirable shape and size. The challenge with doing liposuction alone to your arms is that you will be left with sagging tissues. The brachioplasty will remove any excess skin and tissues that are left. I recommend you schedule a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon who can assess your specific anatomy. Given the amount of extra skin and fat you have, you'd likely benefit most from having liposuction of the arms and an arm lift done together. The liposuction will help thin your arms, and the arm lift will remove the extra skin. Blessings on your journey!

An in person exam and consult would give you the best thorough advice. From your photos one might consider  laser liposuction which could reduce the volume of fat in your arm and “shrink” the skin. The amount of skin shrinkage depends on the youth of the skin and good collagen. The amount is also not predictable as with a formal Brachioplasty but it does avoid scarring. Discuss your options with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
