Will Vi body peel on olive skin get rid of scars with PIH and superficial burns? (Photo)

Question

What sort of treatment is suggested to get rid of scars with PIH on chest skin leftover from acne AND superficial 2nd degree burns? I have an olive complexion and there's no hypertrophy but I do have hyperpigmentation mixed with the hyperpigmentation. I got aerolase lightpod spot treatment on each of my scars and there was no change. Another aesthetician suggested VI body peel but not sure if it will go deep enough and I'm scared to get more pih. Thanks

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis. We see atrophic and hypertrophic scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to discuss the best treatment options for your type of skin. .

Thank you for your question!  VI Peels are a great treatment for hyperpigmentation.  We like to combine peels with microneedling to address deeper pigment.  Most patients benefit from a series of peel treatments (minimum 3) to address pigment.  Sometimes we have patients pre-treat with medical grade skincare products to prevent hyperpigmentation.
