Will a chin implant enhance face (front and profile view)? (photos)

Question

I think my nose is too wide. I like my nose from a side view but I think is too wide on the front. Also, I have a recessive chin, if I have fillers or an implant will it make my face look better? My face is very round also.

It is very possible. Begin with an in-person consultation to discuss your options. During your initial examination, your #chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results. Also, #liposuction under the chin is also another option your doctor can discuss. If you are not a candidate for chin or neck rejuvenation at the time of your #consultation, your board certified plastic surgeon can recommend alternatives to address your concern. 
However, there may be additional options to improve the appearance of your concern to improve the overall balance of your face. Such can be best evaluated in-person. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in #face, #neck and #chin procedures is important to ensure you are receiving the best advice, care, and surgical experience possible.

Without an exam your question cannot be answered.  You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. From your photos I do think that a chin implant would offer a really nice improvement for you. I've posted a video below so that you can see how to determine
whether you are a chin implant candidate. The key question is whether you proceed with a chin
implant, which is a cosmetic surgery that is quite straightforward for
an experienced surgeon or pursue the alternative, a sliding genioplasty, addresses your bite
while changing your chin position. The alternative, a sliding

wish to have your teeth realigned you are best served by seeing an oral surgeon
in consultation. If your concerns are cosmetic and enhancing your chin to bring
it in to balance with your other features--then a chin implant is the way to
go. You will find that rhinoplasty surgeons tend to have extensive experience
with chin implantation because it is such a frequently performed procedure in
conjunction with rhinoplasty. The incision can be made through the skin or
through the mouth but i prefer to do it inside the mouth because it has minimal
discomfort and is invisible without any external evidence of scar. My patients
tend to be very happy with this approach. I hope that information is helpful!

Computer imaging will show whether chin augmentation would be of benefit from the side view. If you undergo chin augmentation make sure that the implant creates a more tapered chin from the front view. This will complement a rhinoplasty that also makes your nose less wide.

You would greatly benefit from a size-1 symmetric silicone chin implant. This would not only make your profile better, it would improve your front view by blunting the transition from your cheeks to chin making you have a shadow in the pre-jowl sulcus.  A final benefit of the chin implant is that it would make your nose look smaller.

A chin implant is a three-dimensional augmentation, and most of the augmentation occurs in the forward projection. In addition, patients get additional width due to the wings on the implant itself. Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek implants, chin implant, lip implants), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years.  From the photos, your cheeks are very flat in the front, there is excess fat in the mid face, the chin is weak as well as the back portion of the jaw line and the nasal tip is a bit wide.  These combine to create a wide oval to round shaped face.  
 Following my beauty principles, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face. Liposuction can be performed to further shape the cheeks and face.
 I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years.  From the photos, your chin is weak.  A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin.  Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. 
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty.  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.
 The back portion of your jaw line is a bit weak and can be augmented, without making your face appear masculine, using precise placement of a dermal filler (I prefer using Restylane Lyft).  Finally, a Closed Rhinoplasty can thin and refine the nasal tip.
