When getting a lift, is there a size limit on implant?

I'm getting a breast lift with augmentation, curious if theirs a limit on how big I can go due to the extra (lift) procedure? I did the rice sizing at home and love 600ml (rice). Will this be possible with a lollipop or anchor incision? 5'2 155lbs 36b right now. I want projection & fullness (d/dd)

Hello, thank you for your question. While you for sure can go a bit bigger, know that that is extra weight that your muscle and tissue have to support and if you desire a perky look eventually even with a lift and the best plastic surgeon your implants and natural breast tissue will drop. breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

your answer to this question is likely to vary significantly surgeon to surgeon. with your size/frame dimensions, many surgeons are likely to caution you against trying to undergo such a large volume augmentation-mastopexy in a single operation. This is because a larger implant is going to place more stress on the lift closure and can result in issues such as wound break down, scar widening, implant mal-position etc. For patients seeking significant increases in size who also need a breast lift, I typically recommend undergoing a breast lift as a first stage followed by a second stage augmentation to ensure the best possible results while minimizing risks of complications.

The limitations of the size you can achieve is based upon your breast tissue and frame. For you, the 600 cc implants would be too large and heavy, stretch and thin your own tissue too much, and sag over time.

A breast lift tightens the skin whereas a breast augmentation expands the skin .It istherefore advisable to use smaller implants to avoid pressure on the skin flaps and potential loss of skin 
The alternative is to use an adjustable breast implant

Yes doing a combined mastopexy augmentation smaller implants are advisable.

Because a breast lift reduces the blood flow to the nipple areola a breast implant that is too large and presses against the pedicle that supplies blood to your nipple/areola can result in significant damage to the nipple areola.

The allowable size of the breast implant during mastopexy augmentation is a matter of judgment of your plastic surgeon.

In my practice I arbitrarily limit breast implant size during mastopexy augmentation to no larger than 350 cc.  I am sure other surgeons have different limitations.
