I was interested initially in Ulthera, but my plastic surgeon does not offer it because he says that it does not have a long enough, proven track record. For those doctors who have both, which one would you recommend?
Answer: Accent vs Ultherapy In my opinion, both procedures work. It is a matter of time, money, and desired result as to which procedure you would benefit more from. Both Ultherapy and Accent are VERY operator dependent. If you choose an office where the experienced cosmetic physician or a very experienced technician perform the treatment you will have much better results than with an inexperienced technician. Also in order to compare apples to apples, you would need to know the number of lines used (ulthera) and the number of Joules delivered (accent). These figures vary widely and contribute to the large differences of user experiences and results. Hope this helps.

Answer: Ultherapy Both are great machines but Ultherapy would be my first choice based on experience and the solid research I have seen about this technology. It generates collagen deeper under the skin over muscle, lifts and tightens saggy areas of our face and neck. It also generates superficial collagen that tones the skin and softens fine lines and wrinkles.

Answer: Ultherapy for the jowls ? Buffalo Niagara, NY Ultherapy is a wonderful technology and I will reiterate what the other physician said - it is time tested and the company continues to do research whcih shows that it is effective and durable. I recommend the Ultherapy procedure for the indication (tightening of the jowls of the face). The picture you provide seems to indicate that you may benefit cosmetically from non surgical tightening of the face with Ultherapy. READ the Ultherapy book provided on the link below. It is a free access book.

Answer: Accent Laser for Jowls Thanks for the question — and it is an important lesson for everyone out there reading these questions and answers. Doctors like to use the devices they have and if they do not own a specific device that you might ask about, they sometimes, not always, try to tell you why that device may not be so good while the device they have is the best thing since white bread. The Accent is a great device – I did the US clinical trials on that device several years ago. We use it regularly. It takes several treatments over a period of time to get the desired effect. But let’sunderstand that the Ulthera device, which has been on the market for about 5 years, has an incredible track record, with more clinical trials than almost any other skin tightening devices ever put out there. It is a one time treatment and results are usually seen by 3 months after the procedure, andthose results, in most people are impressive. We have lots of lasers and energy based systems in ouroffice and we offer different options for almost every procedure we recommend. So we fit the person to the device, not fit the device to every patient we see. So you might want to find a second person to see, someone who has many devices and can give you the best recommendation for what bothers you, and how to best take care of it.

Answer: Ultherapy I have both technologies. I would suggest the Ulthera for you as I think it provides more consistent results than radiofrequency tightening. You are young and have minimal sun damage so your collagen will be stimulated and you will get tightening. Just be sure you go to a board certified dermatologist who has a technician who has vast experience in using the most recent protocols.I hope this helps!
