I’ve read that it’s important to mix sculptra at least two days before treatment to prevent lumps. I’ve also learned some ‘world renowned’ docs who don’t mix early. I’ve heard it needs to be kept warm. What’s the truth here on mixing sculptra and preventing lumps? Also, how would one mix sculptra with prp? Thanks for taking the time to review and respond.
Answer: Every practice has their own protocols You have done a great amount of research, which is great.Some doctors have been reconstituting 72 horsing advance, others 48 ts, some 24 hrs and some immediately before injection. in 2022, FDA updated reconstitution requirements for Sculptra to add more cc of sterile water and gave clearance for the same day reconstitution and injection. I have never added PRP to Sculptra, so I will not be able to comment on how to best do it. I would inject Sculptra the way I normally do and then over the Sculpra inject PRP .

Answer: Mixing Sculptra Recently it has been shown that Sculptra may be mixed just prior to using or several days in advance. I do not mix Sculptra with PRP. PRP or growth factor serums are best used after microneedling.

To my knowledge, mixing Sculptra more than two hours before use has not been shown to decrease the formation of any possible lumps, but some physicians feel mixing it sooner leads to more ease of injection and less clogging. Sculptra does not need to be kept warm but some physicians may prefer to do this.
