Leaking breast milk and stitch abscess. How can I treat the wound from the access?

Ok so last week I told my PS I had breast milk leaking from my nipple and out of where I had my stitches on my right nipple only. They called me in to make sure it wasn't puss and I was in fact just leaking breast milk. I had a baby 9 months ago and did not breast feed and my PS told me no more massaging until further notice. My concern is my small wound where the stitch was. Its not healed yet and I feel like my leaking milk is causing it not to close. Any suggestions for treatment in meantime?

If you're definitely having milk drainage from around and beneath your incisions this is an issue. This is best solved by drying up the breastmilk. This can be done with numerous medications. The one that comes to mind for me is bromocriptine. You need to either have your plastic surgeon start this medication or consult your family practitioner or your OB/GYN to start this medication and monitor you.
