I used to squeeze my pores continuously to excrete sebaceous filaments that I thought were a problem. But now I have really damaged skin on my nose. There are uneven levels of these layers, in the form of patches (it looks a bit like a topographic map now). Could a laser resurfacing or dermabrasion procedure lend skin from the higher layers on the topography (per say) of my skin to the lower layers (where skin is now lost) and even it all out or even regenerate the lost layers? I'm 24 yrs; male.

Answer: Consider Professionally Performed Manual Microneedling For Treating Skin Texture & Color Irregularities Sorry that you are having this problem. You might wish to consider the use of professionally performed manual microneedling (no need for the added expense and risks of RF microneedling) for blending the problem areas better with the surrounding normal skin. In your search, you will no doubt offers for fraxel treatments, etc. However, I have been cautioning my regular followers for years to exercise caution when evaluating them (as well as when considering many of the other so-called, light and energy-based gizmos out there), since the hard science to back up the marketing hype and social media buzz that surrounds them lags woefully behind the hype. And, if there is a skin of color issue, there is also an elevated concern for engendering pigmentary problems following laser and energy-based treatments. Manual microneedling, on the other hand, which I have been performing for over twenty-three years has a long safety and efficacy track record for use in all skin types and is also very useful for treating enlarged pores and other skin textural irregularities. Hope this helps and best of luck.
