I had skin removed and have scars
Answer: Laser Resurfacing for Skin Graft Scars Unfortunately Laser Resurfacing can only improve the appearance of the scars, but unfortunately they will not go away completely. Skin grafts are tricky so go to a VERY experienced and qualified Dermatologist that is an expert in the field of Laser Resurfacing.

Answer: Venus Viva can help even out skin texture and tone Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Laser Resurfacing and Skin Graft Scars You must wait until the skin graft has healed to pursue laser treatments. An in depth consultation is necessary to determine the best course of action for your specific condition. The Sciton Erbium: Yag Laser is used in the operating room under anesthesia as it treats the deepest layers of skin, and can achieve extraordinary results in appropriate patients when used alone or in combination with procedures such as a face lift. This laser can be used in darker skinned patients and produces outstanding results for acne scarring, fine or deeper skin wrinkles, enlarged pores, and irregular skin pigmentation. Healing afterwards is generally uneventful, consisting of what looks like a deep sunburn that is treated with topical lubricants for 7 to 10 days, at which time the skin is healed. Skin pinkness can persist for weeks, and is minimized by topical steroid crèmes.

Answer: Laser resurfacing should help with skin graft scars. You will need to wait until the graft is well healed. You can then consider a couple of different lasers to help improve the appearance of the scar. 1540nm non-ablative lasers will help to smooth out the graft and the transition from normal skin onto the graft. And an ablative laser such as CO2 or Erbium will also help to smooth out the graft. It may take more than one treatment to get a good result.

Answer: Depends on whether they are raised or depressed....raised skin grafts are ideal. Yes, if the skin grafts are raised. I perform at least one to two skin graft revisions (referred from plastics) weekly. The grafts that do best are raised full thickness skin grafts on the face- especially nose area. One treatment with FULL ABLATIVE laser is best, rather than multiple sessions of fractional laer. You should see a Specialist who performs this procedure on a frequent basis, as sometimes hypertrophic scars can occur, and treatment maybe needed. cheers,Dr Davin Lim Laser and Cosmetic Dermatologist,Brisbane and Gold Coast AUSTRALIA
