Can shifting my crown with Invisalign cause bleeding?

I got a crown after a root canal procedure more than 5 years ago. Since February 2016, I started wearing Invisalign braces. This week when I switched to my 7 out of 20 aligners, I have been noticing bleeding around that particular crown. Could it be from wearing braces? My dentist checked my x-ray last year and didn't notice anything odd with this tooth area.

Bleeding is usually due to poor hygiene in the area. Make sure that you are keeping the area clean. If it continues see if the dentist can do a better clearing for you there.

It is not likely.  Please check to be sure that you are thoroughly cleaning with a toothbrush and floss every day especially after meals. If food or plaque is collecting in an area, inflammation will occur and bleeding will result.  You may want to evaluate how you are removing your aligner as sometimes a patient may unknowing scratch their gum with their fingernail as they remove their aligner.Douglas Jopling, DDSDallas, TX area
