Thank you for your question. Red light treatments are designed to remove those outermost skin cells, so it is possible you might see some dryness after your initial procedure. However, I encourage you to contact your doctor for information on topical products you should be using now to enhance the healing process and give your skin the boost it needs after treatment to look and feel its best. With the right treatment and post-procedure regimen, you should see excellent results from this procedure.
It is conceivable that LED light treatment can temporarily and superficially dry the skin. Some of the light energy will be converted to heat and lost when it encounters the skin. If the environment is dry then there could be some trans-epidermal water loss. Remember those top layers of skin cells are dead and sloughing off so drying them out a bit is not going to do any harm in the long run. The LED light has many positive effects so the benefits most likely outweigh the risks. Just make sure you are using a good moisturizer!Best,Dr. Amy

LED light therapy can help brighten the skin and perhaps help a little with fine lines in a very superficial way. It is pretty harmless, and you can't expect too much as far as long-lasting or permanent results. However, I am concerned about the use of the word melanoma. Any melanoma...
LED is a safe, chemical-free option while you are on antibiotics. We often combine LED Light Therapy with other treatments, such as facials, chemical peels, or medical treatments, for even more dramatic results. Hope this helps!
