I am 5 foot 4 weighing 168 pounds, wearing bra size 36DD wanting to reduce to a B/C cup. Would this be possible?

Hello, thank you for your question. Tissue density will always play a big role in the number of grams removed. Going too small can sacrifice the shape of the breasts. The nipple has to have a blood supply to survive from the underlying tissue. A PS cannot guarantee that a breast will be a specific cup size after reduction. Very large breasts rarely are reduced by more than two or three "cup" sizes. A breast lift which would be part of the BR would reshape the tissue and move the areola to an improved location.

At size 36, each 200 grams removed corresponds to 1 cup size change.  You would need 400 grams removed to be a C and 600 grams removed to be a B.  However, at 5’4 and 168 lbs, your BMI is 28 ½.  You may not be happy with your breasts disproportionately small.  The technique I recommend for reduction is The Bellesoma Method.  This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.  The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction.  Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Thanks for your question. I don’t see why that wouldn’t be achievable. You would need to be seen in-person to determine your eligibility for a breast reduction surgery. However, as long as a patient has enough tissue to remove, they typically are a candidate. Your final size is going to be determined by a number of factors that are worth discussing with your surgeon. Good luck!
