How long does the vermillion border take to repair itself? (photos)

My lips were over filled last year which caused filler to be above my lip line. I had it dissolved and then refilled and the same thing seems to have happened. I was told this has been down to repeated bad technique and filler. Wing injected into the wrong place. I went to a different doctor this time he said he wants to dissolve them completely and wait three months before refilling so the lips have time to repair themselves. Another doctor said 6 weeks would be fine. How long should I wait?
