would it be affective and what type of experience should a surgeon have to successfully perform the surgery. My nose curves out on the left and protudes on the right with uneven nostrils the left both wider and longer than the right. I feel like it plays a major hand with my chronic congestion and sinus infections. I really just want to not feel like I'm catching a cold all the time and an evened out nose so it looks pretty symmetrical.
Answer: Rhinoplasty, septoplasty and possible endoscopic sinus surgery The rhinoplasty procedure can address removal of the dorsal hump, and osteotomies to straighten the nasal bones. A spreader graft composed of the patient's own cartilage will be required on the concave side. Any minor tip and nostril adjustments can be performed at the same time. The rhinoplasty procedure is considered cosmetic and must be paid for by the patient A septoplasty procedure involves removal of obstructing bone and cartilage in the back of the nose which is decreasing airflow dynamics through the nose. This must be documented for medical necessity before it is submitted to your medical insurance. Co-pays and to deductibles will still apply. Endoscopic sinus surgery is performed for medical necessity as well, once a CAT scan of the paranasal sinuses has been performed to document chronic nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis. the procedure involved removal of polyps and opening the sinus cavities small instruments and telescopes. All 3 procedures can be performed simultaneously and are done so routinely in our practice. For more information on all he above procedures, please see the link below

Answer: Nose surgery: what to do? It appears that your nose needs more structure. That means that the skin size is right, maybe slightly thick at the bottom part, but if there is not enough internal structure then the nose will have the features you do not like. This is similar to a dress that may be two sizes too big, just doesn't fit right. An experienced board-certified plastic surgeon can consult with you to give you an individualized plan. Good luck
