Should I look like this after a Fleur de Lis abdominoplasty? (photo)

GabbyMacD
6 mths ago I had a complex total abdominal reconstruction & a Fleur de Ls abdominoplasty, the latter largely to assist with success of the abdo recon. Whilst I fully understand the most significant priority was of course the abdo recon, I am so depressed at the outcome of my abdominoplasty. It was evident from the start that this was beyond post-surgical swelling. I had researched extensively prior to surgery & realise an abdominoplasty doesn’t excise the flanks, etc. but the area in the photos was part of the pannus. It was like only the middle was done. I am NOT vain; the scars & lack of belly button don’t phase me - I’ve been through a lot surgically prior to this unfortunately. However, all my skirts, slacks etc fit poorly as the tummy itself is obviously flatter but these fat bulges (NOT my hips/lovehandles) mean I have to get a bigger size so everything swims. Yet even with altering skirts, the bulges are visible In prep for the total abdo recon, I was told that I can never have another abdominal surgery (not that I would ever want to) unless of course it was absolutely medically necessary. Thus, I’m not sure even liposuction wld be a safe recourse. I’d greatly welcome advice as it’s very upsetting to me but I feel like I’m being a pain since the main priority was my abdo recon ( I am VERY grateful to my surgeon for his expertise & work with that). I realise my abdominoplasty wasn’t for strictly cosmetic reasons but I still have to live with this body.
