I am a physician in private practice in San Diego. I have put a few patients with Kaiser insurance on accutane but these patients paid cash to see me. In these cases, the patients' Kaiser physicians refused to prescribe Accutane and I am not exactly sure why. There is no reason, however, why Kaiser physicians cannot prescribe Accutane when it is indicated, and there is no reason why you should not be able to obtain Accutane through Kaiser's pharmacies. They may require you to jump through some hoops though.Good luck.
Occasional Alcohol intake in moderation is fine while taking Accutane (isotretinoin). Many prescription drugs are metabolized by the liver, as is Accutane. The key is moderation and occasional use.
