Switching from Latisse to Revitalash.

Question

I am currently using Latisse and am thinking about switching to another lash serum such as Revitalash. I was wondering if I would have to start all over or if I could just get started with Revitalash and not lose the progress that has taken a while to achieve.

Revitalash does not contain the prescription medication bimatoprost which is present in Latisse and which is the key ingredient that lengthens and thickens eyelash hair. Latisse is both Health Canada and FDA approved whereas Revitalash is not. This is not to say that Revitalash will not stimulate eyelash growth it just may not work as effectively as Latisse, so it is possible that you may lose the growth you've seen with Latisse. That said, you can always try and see the result, and if you're not satisfied return to using Latisse. I would highly recommend that you discuss your switch to another product as well as any other questions or concerns that you might have with your current Latisse provider. They will be most knowledgeable about your case and will be in a position to provide the best advice.

Latisse is the only FDA approved eyelash medication. But that does not mean that Revitalash may not work. It simply means it will not work in the same way and is not a medication. You'd be fine to switch at any point. But if you find your growth is different or less with Revitalash, then you will probably want to return to using the Latisse again. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
