HSV 1 scar removal treatment options? (Photo)

Hi, What can be done to remove a "below the surface HSV 1 lesion"? It has never formed into a blister, but it's been there a while (6 mos+). A plastic surgeon gave me 2 high dose pills of valtrex, but it did nothing. I'm Looking for something scar free, and fast treatment with no down time. Thanks in advance.
