Can filler be done in upper and lower eyelids for my hollowing? (Photos)

Question

Im really seeing some upper orbital hollowing and lower in tear trough area. I was considering surgery, but i really see the volume loss of the upper and lower lids. I spoke with one dr that said they couldnt see much of an issue, but it bothers me and at im 38 . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your question.  Under eye filler is a great option, by adding a little bit of Restylane to the area it can help improve the under eyes by looking refreshed.  The only filler that you should have placed under the eyes is Restylane.  Some of the other fillers can attract water to the area and make it look too puffy.  I typically don't recommend filler to the upper eyelids.  I would suggest seeing a Board Certified Injector to evaluate you and discuss your options.  Best of luck to you.

Filler can definitely be used in the tear-trough (under eye) area to help fill the volume loss and hallowing. Filler placed in this area can also help with any under eye darkness. As far as the upper eyelids go, this is not an area that filler is used in. For upper eyelid drooping or excess skin, it is best to seek surgical options such as upper blepharoplasty or browlift procedures.

Fillers are great when injected around the areas where the skin is thick, and even better when there is some subcutaneous fat present. Around the eyes, where the skin is very thin, I prefer to use the patient’s own fat. When I inject fat around the eyes, the results are natural and permanent.
