Itching is a normal part of healing. Sometimes can be quite bothersome so Benadryl does help to counter act the effect of the process that causes itching. Other things you can do is use topical sunburn creams with mint or other refreshing additives. Just always remember to check first with your surgeon prior to using anything that relates to your surgery.
