On the day of the surgery and the day after, bleeding is likely to occur. Hi and welcome to our forum!The procedure of rhinoplasty is associated with a degree of postoperative discomfort which is controlled quite well with pain medication . The major patient complaint is postoperative nasal congestion. We have come a way...surgeons went from traditional nasal packing (gauze)  to packing with plastic tubes for breathing (didn't work), to prepackaged tampons, to no packing at all (unless excessive bleeding occurs). In spite of this, postoperative intranasal swelling will result in a degree of nasal airway obstruction, relatively resistant to vasoconstrictive nasal sprays. It is not dissimilar to having a bad head cold for a week or two. I have not used the piezo instrument but osteotomy by osteotome is simple, controlled, and accurate. I don't see a major advantage in using complex instrumentation. If you are under professional care for your panic attacks, your provider must be made aware of the upcoming procedure. Your surgeon and anesthesiologist must be made aware of your disorder as well. Best wishes...
