I also had an hernia repair and my belly button looks so much larger! Can this be fixed?
Answer: A revision should be done to get rid of the dog ears along with laser treatments to help improve appearance of the scars. Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Coolsculpting Hello plastic8800! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. This is a great question. Coolsculpting is a great non-surgical option that treats pinchable fat. However, based on your history, I highly recommend scheduling an in-person consultation in order to better assess the areas of concern and discuss an appropriate treatment plan to help achieve your aesthetic goals. Our office phone number is: (312) 944-0117. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Getting rid of dog years after a tummy tuck Great question but I wish you were not pinching the area where the dog ears are. By pinching the area, it confuses us, the doctors. If it’s strictly excess fat, then liposuction or coolsculpt may help the situation. On the other hand, if it’s mostly skin, an excision is warranted. I hope to Selfs and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
