Can I Take Iron Supplements While on Accutane?

hello doctors, just a few questions about accutane, i have mild acne , they just look like bumps under the skin. They only look bad under spot lights.. so my doctor put me on accutane 20ml for 3 months because my skin gets irritated from the regular acne creams. my questions are : 1)is accutane the best choice for me? is a 3 month course too short ? 2) can i continue taking my iron supplements ? because i have a low ferritin level 3) can i put vit c 10% on my face ? thanks..

If you have strong reactions to topicals, sometimes Accutane is a good option. Since you have mild acne, you won't need to be one it as long as other patients, though 3 months is very short, and 20mg is a lower dosage. When you're taking it at about month 2, assess how your skin is doing and talk with your doctor. It may be that you need to take it more like 5 months, but you really need to assess that during your course. It's ok to take iron supplements. A general vitamin is fine as well, just not a specific standalone Vitamin A capsule. And finally, you can and should use Vitamin C, as well as sunscreen every single day.
