Hey! I had a closed septorhinoplasty one month ago. I had uneven columella to start with so he shortened the longer side and didn't touch the other side. Now the adjusted side is noticeably shorter. Also my nose area looks too pinched above the nostrils, more so on one side (see arrow). To make this look even worse the bony area above that side on the upper part of my nose looks and feels too wide compared to the other side (arrow). Also when my cast was taken off I noticed this straight away.

Thanks for posting your question.  Final results from rhinoplasty will take months to evaluate.  Based on your images your nasal  tip does appear to have subtle asymmetry and your nasal pyramid or bridge may be slightly wide.   Speak to your surgeon and  review your concerns.  Likely he or she will ask you to monitor your results over the first year of healing.  At the end of the year a revision procedure can be performed to improve your results.

Thank you for your question. One month post op is still too early in the healing process to know the final results. Typically, the initial swelling after nose surgery subsides within two to three weeks.  However, residual swelling, especially in the tip of the nose, can take about a year to resolve as the contour refines. Swelling can also vary through the day, being more prominent in the morning. I know it can be hard but try and be patient as your nose continues to heal. If you still have concerns down the road follow up with your surgeon as he or she knows exactly what was done. Best of luck to you.

With any nasal surgery, the name of the game is patience. At one week, we would expect you to have quite a bit of swelling and bruising still noticeable and may have trouble breathing out of one or both nostrils. By the end of two weeks, typically, you will still be swollen but look more like you have a bad cold, rather than post surgical. Swelling can take up to a year to be completely gone, however, by 9 weeks you will look very good and should see big difference from your pre-op pics.

It is difficult to give you an answer without your preoperative pictures to compare. 1 month post op is early but your surgeon has a better idea of the changes created on your nose. I suggest to have this discussion with him or her.
