I had IPL/ND Yag laser treatment on face to treat a vascular type birthmark on my face? (photo)

I experienced extreme swelling, burning and blistering. It has been almost 6 days and my face is still oozing pink and orange fluid with blisters. I was told that I should be able to wear makeup the day following the treatment and worse case might have a little blister or two. I paid for 5 treatments, but I am fearful of doing this again.

Hi 1225.  STOP NOW AND GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!  A Yag laser and IPl are NOT the correct tools for treating your condition.  This practice is doing you a huge disservice by treating your birthmark with these lasers.  I am assuming they did not show you any before and after pictures, because there would probably be none to show if they are treating vascular birthmarks in this manner.  A pulsed dye laser such as the V-Beam or Vstar is the correct tool.  Find someone in your area that is experienced in treating vascular birthmarks with a pulsed dye laser and you will be much better off.  This practice will not be able to get rid of your mark with their technology and by the looks of things, they may do you great harm in the process.  The results at the link below are all our own patients and were all treated with a V-Beam or V-Star pulsed dye laser.  Good luck.

BEST to return to the laser/IPL doctor for burn wound care! I recommend Silvedene cream for 10 to 14 days than Aquafor ointment til healed. Which could take a month.
