I've ground my teeth down significantly and just ground through my night guard. I'm wondering if I'll get any of the cost covered. I have several reasons for needing the veneers other than not liking my smile (it's not really that bad). I believe it is a source of headaches and TMJ, when I close my jaw it's obvious the teeth are too short because it looks almost like I have no teeth. My thought is, I could get veneers and then a new night guard to fit them. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.
Answer: Not really an issue
Insurance will max out at $1000-2000. To fix your situation will take closer to $20-50,000 so insurance assistance won't matter much. It is like buying a Ford pickup truck with a rebate. It is nice, but not significant.
no matter what your reason for treatment is.

Answer: Insurance Coverage, Bite Problems and Veneers
Insurance will never cover anything that resembles cosmetic regardless of the underlying problem. It is an added benefit to have dental insurance, but be mindful of the fact that benefits paid are just benefits toward your dental procedure.. You are grinding you teeth and you mentioned you have gone through a bite guard! Veneers would probably not be the right solution. You need to correct your bite first and find out where it is off. You might consider Zirconia crowns, which are more durable than veneers. Consider doing a consultation with a Neuromuscular Dentist who is trained in TMJ and other bite problems. At least have a consultation with one before you do the dental work. You would not want to grind through the crowns! Good luck and do your research!

Answer: Veneers can be covered by insurance
You need more than couple veneers and usually insurance will not cover cosmetic procedures. I recommend you to have consultation with a Prosthodontist in your area.

Answer: Will Insurance Cover the Cost of Vaneers for Ground Down Teeth? (photo)
It sounds like you think you want to get veneers to help fix your bite and treat your headaches. You are on the right path, in that bite problems can contribute to excessive wear, headaches and TMJ problems.
It's not likely your insurance will help much, but you may have options to help solve the problem.
You need a good cosmetic dentist, as well as one who is skilled at managing bite issues. It can be hard to find someone who is truly good at both parts. Look at before and after photos to get an idea of the cosmetic and aesthetic results. Look for testimonials about improvements in bite problems.
You may need very extensive work (including porcelain veneers), but a great practitioner will help set a plan that you can do quickly or in smaller pieces.

Answer: Insurance Coverage for Veneers for Worn Down Teeth
You need a lot other treatment to correct your bite. I would advise you to seek out the opinions of at lest 2 dentists that are experts in "occlusion". Unless your entire bite is dealt with properly, any Veneers placed on your anterior teeth only, will surely fail.
