Procapil is an herbal product that has activity against hair loss but is a complete different medication than minoxidil which is a pharmaceutical. There hasn't been significant research on procapil, mostly because it is a proprietary vitamin blend. I would recommend using minoxidil and procapil as an adjunct. Be careful however as discontinuation of procapil does lead to shedding.
With any kind of product, if your experience anything unusual you need to stop and follow up with your doctor. The only FDA approved medications that may decrease or slow down progression of your hair loss are propecia and minoxidil. You can try them under physician supervision and see if they help slow down your hair loss.
