Will the power settings for fine hair have any effect on dark coarse and thick hair?

Hello doctors, I am of Indian descent and have very dark coarse hair and I am skin type 2. I have had laser treatment done on my hands and legs. Just out of curiosity I checked the machine used and the settings used by my doctor. She used settings which are suitable for fine and thin hair, for the treatments.  Please help. Thank you.

The toughest hairs to remove are the fine hairs. So if the laser was set to this, this is usually an aggressive setting. Hair removal on extremities requires many treatments 8-10 and in my experience, is not very satisfactory for the patient.

I am not sure that you understand the laser settings. In my office, with the laser I use the most (Lightpod by Aerolase---voted #1  hair removal laser in 2015---its not about the thickness of the hair.I tell patient that the size of the target is what determines the laser efficacy.Too small a hair (vellus, fine hair) will not get seen by any laser. Hope this helps you1
