I have been applying oil to my scalp regularly. Can I continue to do so after PRP treatment for hair loss.

After th eprp treatment it is improtant not to apply anything on the treated area minimum of 1 day

Thank you for your question. I don’t think oil will pose any problems, but I would recommend you stop using the oil until your PRP treatments have healed (1-2 weeks,) as you want the area to breathe during the healing period. Best of luck with your treatments! 

Resourceful1773,There should not be any problem related to using a scalp conditioning oil. I would wait a few days after the treatment to restart your routine.

In my opinion, there are no contraindications to use utilizing PRP with scalp oil. However, I would not apply the scalp oil after PRP injection treatment and wash it out prior to the treatment.

Hi, thank you for the question. You can use scalp oil after completion of your PRP sessions. I would not recommend you to use it during the sessions. As PRP scalp leaves open wound sites, which can be source of scalp infection. Certain oils can be used during the subsequent sessions to improve PRP results ,but they should be approved by your PRP provider. I hope it will be helpful.
