My 10 month old daughter had a facial laceration 2 weeks ago. She had two disolvable stitches placed in the ER. Unfortunately, one of the stitches dissolved (or fell out) much too early, 2 days after they were placed and she is now left with a wound that is much more gaping and open than it could have been if the wound had proper closure. What can be done to help the appearance of this scar once the wound heals? Scar revision? Laser resurfacing? Picture is 2 weeks post incident / stitches.

Answer: A revision should be done for this to improve appearance. Follow with laser treatment to minimize appearance in the future
Not sure how long it has been since your procedures. But my best advice is to wait longer if it has not been at least 6-12 months. The pink lip has an amazing ability to regenerate and heal without scar and most often, early concerns go away with time without any intervention.
Good luck!
