I split my lip open in a bike crash May 9. A month out and with stitches dissolved, I was left with what looked like a mountainous nipple atop where they once were. Turns out a stitch never dissolved, inciting a major inflammatory reaction and a fibroma/granuloma (?) to form. After it was cut out, things healed up nicely, but there remains a sizable ball of scar tissue that, while relatively invisible, can be easily felt. If I opt to get it excised, do I risk losing volume/an uneven appearance?
