The wound in the photograph seems relatively minor in should heal by secondary intention. Proper wound care will be prescribed by your plastic surgeon and will facilitate closure.

It appears that your wound is in the center of your abdomen.  This is the most common location for wound-healing problems because most of the tension is here.  Follow-up with your PS to be sure there isn't an infected stitch in the wound causing the problem.  I tell my patients to get good quality multivitamins as well as 500mg of Ester-C (buffered Vitamin C).  Take one multivitamin per day and take the vitamin C 3 times per day with meals.  This should help the wound heal faster.  Once the wound has closed on it's own, most surgeons wait for the scar to mature (typically about a year) and then decide if a revision is necessary.  Most of the times, the scars look fine without any revisions.  Hope it goes well!

I agree with Dr Zubowicz's comment below. This should heal in a few weeks. Follow up with your plastic surgeon.
