Will implants cause my breasts to be veiny? My breastfeeding size is perfect but super veiny. I don't love the look.

Breast implants typically do not cause a "veiny" look. I typically place breast implants under the chest muscle. The muscle provides good support for the implants and I have never personally had my patients complain about heaviness. I specialize in 24 hour recovery after breast augmentation. Most of my patients describe the sensation immediately after surgery as feeling "engorged," similar to when they were nursing. The pain is typically minimal and most take ibuprofen. When considering breast augmentation make sure you find a board certified plastic surgeon who will take the time to answer all of your questions and explain all of your options, so that you can decide if breast augmentation is right for you.

Veins in the breasts tend to be more pronounced in fair skinned females and they may be related to hereditary factors or hormonal changes such as breastfeeding.  It is common to have more visible veins after a big implant but they will clear up.  Just be patient and continue to follow up with your PS.

If your veins are not so prominent now, they probably will not be after an augmentation. Initially, you may feel like your breasts are full of milk, but this sensation will settle fairly quickly as you heal and the swelling subsides and the tightest loosens.
