I am 51 and in the last year went through menopause. My hair started breaking along the hairline and stopped growing and became thin and dry. I do highlight my hair and am a swimmer,(swim everyday for an hour) but I rinse hair and put conditioner under cap and use only the best hair products and styling tools. I was just put on HRT and wondering if I stop romaine will I have side effects or loose more hair/not gain back since its only been 8 weeks.

This is a complex question so I would need all the details not just highlighted information. I’m looking at the next many many many years of your hair so stopping after 2 months might cause a hiccup but not a huge issue. Be sure to review everything with a hair loss expert. If you have Androgenetic alopecia your hair will get worse and worse if you do nothing. If you have frontal fibrosing alopecia your hair will get worse and worse if you do nothing. Will it get worse because you stopped Rogaine after 2 months? No. It will get worse because the disease drives the hair loss. You need an answer as to why you are losing hair? If that answer does not account for dryness and breakage then you need to get another answer too. This question could be simple or it could be hugely complex. See an expert.  I am envisioning the next 600 months of your hair not just 2.

You might sit down with a good stylist and discuss the treatment of your hair with commercial products that might address the fragility of your hair. Daily swimming in chlorinated water doesn't help but good after care may solve the problem
