Is 3 ml of topical Minoxidil once a day safe?

Question

I have been using topical minoxidil and Finasteride for 5 years. Do you think it is safe to use 3 ml of minoxidil once a day? It seems like I get the best results from that dose. I should also point out that all of my hair on scalp gets thicker (even where I don't apply it). I just want to make this dose is safe. I'm 27 years old.

For Androgenic Alopecia (male/female pattern baldness), there are many treatment options.  Medications like Minoxidil and Finasteride are two options, though it must be stressed that once starting and exhibiting hair growth/retainment, it must be continued long-term.  Both medications have side effect profiles that should be discussed and understood before starting.  It can be treated with in office treatments like steroid injections, PRP/Acell, Exosomes and at home treatments like oral medications Spironolactone (females) or Finasteride, oral vitamins like Viviscal, topical exfoliating sprays like Restorsea, and weekly growth factors like anteagemd.  It's important to see an expert for an evaluation. If hair loss is significant, it may requires hair transplant (follicular unit translation).

The dosing recommendation for Minoxidil is to apply a half capful or 1 mL twice a day to the affected scalp areas, maximum dose: 2 mL.  If you are using Minoxidil 2%, then I would recommend increasing your dose up to the 5% with the recommended dosing, otherwise you could consider decreasing your dose down and monitoring for maintained results.  Alternatively, you could continue using it off-label if not exhibiting any side effects.  Hair loss is best to be evaluated by a cosmetic dermatologist to offer you the best treatments. If your not getting side effects and it is working for you, then I guess it is fine. What concentration is the Minoxidil? If you are using 2%, you might increase it to 5% and then use less
