It is not uncommon to have pinpoint bleeding, scabs and oozing after a Pixel laser treatment. I would recommend post-treatment vinegar/water soaks 4x daily, copious amounts of Aquaphor or Vaseline on a regular basis, and refraining from picking. If you develop yellow crusts, excessive pain, fevers/chills, then you should call your doctor and start an antibiotic in case of bacterial infection.

Oozing and crusting is not uncommon after a Pixel laser treatment if aggressive settings were used.  In general, patients should be instructed to keep the area moist with a thick ointment such as Vaseline or Aquaphor and not pick the scabs off after the procedure.  If these scabs appeared suddenly or seem to be spreading, it could be an indication that you have a secondary viral or bacterial infection.  I recommend that you follow up with the physician who performed the procedure for an in-person evaluation.  We typically have patients follow-up every couple days after their procedure to make sure that their healing is on the right track.  The success of the Pixel procedure depends on both the patient and the physician administering the treatment.  Since significant risks are involved, it should only be performed by Board-Certified dermatologists or plastic surgeons who are experienced with the procedure.
