Scarring can occur if you peel the skin off after a resurfacing procedure. These should get better with time. Hydrocortisone will help wouth with any erythema or reddness. For the scars itself, silicone based creams/ gels/ ointments are best. At our practice, we have been using Silagen (silicone based cream) and noticed significant improvement in the appearance of scars, both old and new. After a few months, you can consider a non ablative laser resurfacing to help the appearance of the scars.

Scar can occur with TCA due to several reasons. 1. Multicoats with TCA even at a dilute concentration 2. Poor barrier function 3. Infection 4. Drying out and poor wound care. Do not use a gel, as gels tend to dry out the area. Apply an ointment. Wound care at this point is critical, so I would see a specialist to prevent infection, and look after your wounds.
