Using TCA on birthmark, will it remove it? (photo)

I have recently bought a 50% TCA Peel without reading all the information available online. I saw it and read that it could remove birthmark and bought it straight away. I don't know if it's working or not but my birthmark has changed its colour from brown to white. Will TCA remove my birthmark?

I don't recommend applying TCA peels yourself due to risk of burns and scarring. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for skin care and after care recommendations. I recommend silicone gel with growth factors. Birthmarks can be removed with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. Hello,I do not recommend using a peel to remove a birthmark.  First, it will not get deep enough to remove it, and if it could, the result would be permanent scarring.  A second reason would be that you would not want to alter the appearance of this mole, since undetected changes could mask an evolving cancer within the mole.  I would see your dermatologist for photos and monitoring.  Unfortunately, surgical removal here would result in a very visible scar and possibly some functional loss.Dr. Malouf

No, it will not remove it. The mole extends into the fat layer of yours skin. Under the microscope melanocytes are in the hair follicle. TCA will not remove this, laser will not remove this. Serial excision will. All the best, and stay safe. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
