Can I use glomax lip gel by newtrimed to lighten dark lips safely?

I am a 25 year old female with wheatish complexion. My lips became darker with age. Its genetic. Upper part of the lip is dark while corners of the lower lip are also dark. So in hunt of safe topical creams for lips which would lighten them a bit and can be used over long term without any side effects. I found this gel on some forums, so want to know if it's safe and can be used on sensitive areas such as lips.
