Hello, Laws vary from state to state, but here in Arizona, the state heavily controls the use of lasers. You must be licensed and certified by the state in order to perform laser duties. Many Aestheticians also have dual licenses. Many lasers, depending on classification need to have doctor supervision, some just require that a doctor be "on call". Always best to look for a Dermatology office that is supervised by a doctor.Good Luck!
Depends on state law. in New York yes but in New Jersey no. If this is associated with physician there will probably be on problem .However if there are hormonal abnormalities these should be addressed first before beginning laser hair removal. Someone with poly cystic ovary is very difficult to treat with laser hair removal.
I practice in Maryland, and I believe that they are pretty clear as far as procedures that are allowed to be done without physician supervision . Lasers are not to be used without physician supervision.Hope this helps. Beverly Johnson, MD
